Ruth Easterbrook

Ruth's pots are made with the idea of interactive art; that they will become part of the sharing, presentation, and pleasure that comes with making and enjoying food. Her work is built upon research of ceramic historical forms, and refining how my work feels and functions in the daily lives of other once it leaves her studio. The surface designs are developed through observing nature on my daily dog walks as well as inspiration found in the many different depictions of flowers in paintings and illustration. She embraces the fluidity of glaze setting up subtle shifts and chemical happenstances that will happen in the kiln.
