Lauren Markley
Lauren's jewelry, at once both small-scale sculpture as well as ornament for the body, is a personal interpretation of her surroundings and observations. Lauren primarily uses sterling silver, enamel, bronze, and wood. Her work is inspired by inhabited and abandoned spaces, architecture, building materials, and schematics. She explores these themes through the use of geometric forms, repeated patterns, and negative space, as well as with surface treatments such as painting and etching. Lauren fabricates her jewelry using traditional metalsmithing methods in her studio in Raleigh, NC.
